We currently have a vacancy for a Health and Safety Professional to join our team as a Principal Designer in accordance with CDM2015. The ideal candidate will ideally hold the NEBOSH Construction Certificate and be able to understand the design process and applicable health and safety regulations in a construction environment. Candidates with a strong commercial awareness, excellent interpersonal skills and the desire to continue a career in a consultancy environment will be at a distinct advantage.

About You

The ideal candidate will hold

  • A recognised design qualification.
  • A NEBOSH General / Construction Certificate and be
  • A member of a relevant professional body such as APS or IOSH.
Experience/Skills Required
  • Working knowledge of CDM2015 and associated guidance (L153)
  • 5 years’ experience in a CDM Co-ordinator / PD role and understanding of the design process
  • Client facing experience and attendances at progress and design meetings
  • Computer literate and competent with Microsoft Office suite of  programmes (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
    Excellent communication skills at all levels
 Responsibilities
  • Fully discharge Principal Designer duties as required under CDM2015
  • Preparing of the documentation required by L153 guidance document
  • Positive participation at relevant meetings including design workshops
  • Management of the pre-construction phase of projects
  • Assist the Client by undertaking site inspections, reviewing construction phase plans and notifying the HSE where necessary
  • Co-ordinate handover of building manuals and review the health and safety file at completion of projects

The Individual:

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate evidence of

It is anticipated that the successful candidate will have five years plus experience in a similar role within a consultancy in the construction Industry.

The role will be based from our Leeds Office and support projects throughout our Northern Region which will entail travel and occasional overnight stays. A Driving Licence is therefore essential.

We have an opportunity for a graduate Quantity Surveyor in our Croydon office. As a Graduate Quantity Surveyor within our business, you will assist the project surveyor to carry out quantity surveying duties in conjunction with other team members and provide effective financial and contractual control on all contracts allocated. You will be encouraged and supported to gain a relevant professional membership.

About You
  • Studying to degree level in Quantity Surveying
  • Naturally analytical and confident in problem solving
  • Excellent commercial awareness
Experience/Skills Required

Previous experience in construction is not essential however we will be looking for the following personal attributes

  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and cohesively as part of a team
  • Be a good communicator (written and verbal)
  • Professional presentation, attention to detail and flexibility
  • Ability and desire to progress

We have a generic requirement for Project Quantity Surveyors in our Croydon office.

The ideal candidates should have a proven track record of managing and delivering quantity surveying services from inception to completion on construction projects, in a client facing as well as technical role. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to control and monitor a variety of projects concurrently, along with experience of managing significant capital expenditure budgets.

About You
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar.
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in roles directly related to the provision of project quantity surveying services in a professional QS consultancy firm.
  • Predominately been operating within the traditional construction sectors
  • Qualified or working towards MRICS.
Experience/Skills Required
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and cohesively as part of a team
  • Be a good communicator (written and verbal) who interacts well with Clients and other Consultants
