Mario Penso leads WT Partnership’s African Business and is a Registered Professional Quantity Surveyor (SACQSP and RICS) with over 13 years of post-qualification experience across the UK and African construction markets in a variety of sectors.
He has delivered major commercial, education and retail projects across Africa and the UK, including complex office fit‑outs, new‑build developments and school facilities. After contributing to several high‑profile UK projects, Mario returned to Africa to establish and lead WT South Africa, bringing international expertise and global best practice to projects across the continent.
Mario’s experience covers the full project lifecycle, from early‑stage cost planning and procurement through to contract administration and final account agreement. He has also undertaken dual roles as Quantity Surveyor and Employer’s Agent on multiple schemes, providing clients with integrated commercial and contractual leadership.
As WT’s Africa Lead, Mario plays a key role in expanding WT’s presence across the continent. Working closely with trusted local partners in strategic African markets, he supports clients delivering projects across multiple countries, combining WT’s global capabilities with strong local knowledge and delivery expertise.
Known for his collaborative, proactive and client‑focused approach, Mario works closely with project teams to deliver commercially robust solutions, maintaining strong cost control and project certainty while supporting successful outcomes across diverse operating environments.
