With views overlooking Hyde Park and within sight of the King’s Life Guard Household Cavalry changing, the Mandarin Oriental in Knightsbridge has been a staple of prestigious London hotels for over 100 years.
WT was appointed for the refurbishment works of this 200-bedroom landmark. The works included:
- Renovation of all guest rooms, suites & corridors.
- Construction of a 9th floor on the Hyde Park side for two new suites.
- Temporary movement of all staff and management facilities and store rooms to free up front-of-house space for redevelopment.
- Re-construction of the Royal Suite.
- The creation of signature restaurants.
- The finishing and fit-out of the basement levels of the adjacent 1 Hyde Park residential development to form new back-of-house areas, guest swimming pool and fitness facilities.
- A link through to the hotel from 1 Hyde Park.
- The associated re-allocation of existing back-of-house space.
