Queensway caters for children and young people on the autistic spectrum and those with social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
The new building acts as a satellite campus and extension to existing facilities, to provide education for key stages 3 and 4 students, comprising the construction of a new build SEMH facility, including outdoor covered classrooms.
WT was engaged at RIBA 0 to support Learning Community Trust’s (LCT) business case for funding to create a new campus, as an enabler to the transfer of the Alternative Provision (AP) Kickstart to the Trust.
We acted as lead consultant for LCT, providing recommendations for procurement strategy of the initial design team and the subsequent procurement of a contractor. The WT team led the design through the planning stages and acted on behalf of LCT for engagement with key Local Authority and DfE stakeholders. Throughout the project, WT proactively managed LCT’s pre-approved budget to ensure the project remained affordable with the funding received.
