Goldsmiths University, Richard Hoggart Building Cinema

Conversion of a lecture theatre into a 101-seat state of the art cinema.

This was a challenging project for Goldsmiths University due to the limited time to procure the work and a limited budget.

There were also a number of key partners and stakeholders to manage. We had initially recommended that they defer the scheme until the following year because of the significant risks involved.  However, funding approval meant proceeding with the scheme as the original programme and mitigating the risks as best as possible.

We provided realistic budgets initially then worked with the appointed contractor collaboratively, whilst working on an open book policy to deliver the best project for Goldsmiths. The delivery element of the scheme did prove challenging, but the overall project has been a great success and is proving a fantastic facility for not only Goldsmiths students but for local residents as well.
