The scheme reimagines the heart of the town centre, reconfiguring the west end of Freshney Place shopping centre into a new public square and mixed-use destination for the community. As well as delivering a new market, the scheme creates a cinema, leisure and retail units and food and drink outlets.

The scheme sits adjacent listed buildings to three sides of the site and part of the existing structure houses a public art mural which is to be retained and installed in the new building structure.
