Ireland

Across Ireland’s rapidly evolving built environment, we provide trusted local insight, global expertise and sustainable value, supporting projects through every stage as the country accelerates its national infrastructure and development ambitions.

A growing pipeline in a transforming market

The Ryder Cup is coming next year, Metrolink is moving forward, Bus-Connects Dublin, Dart+ Programme, Cork Area Commuter Rail, The CONNECT Project, Rosslare Europort – Offshore Renewable Energy Hub, EirGrid – North South Interconnector, Uisce Eireann – Water Supply Project Eastern and Midlands Region, Data Centre moratorium lifted, Wind Energy Projects increasing, Residential Housing completions/targets pushing higher and significant investment in healthcare.

Government momentum toward faster programme delivery

The Irish Government is pushing for faster programmes and delivery of projects to ensure that essential services and housing is delivered at pace, i.e. faster than we have ever seen before. In December 2025, the Government published the – Accelerating Infrastructure – Report and Action Plan to help drive the efficient delivery of infrastructure across Ireland.

“By removing barriers and streamlining processes, we are creating the conditions for faster, more efficient development that supports housing delivery, enterprise, and social progress. These measures will not only transform how critical projects are delivered but will strengthen the foundations for sustainable growth and prosperity for generations to come.” – Minister of State at the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science Marian Harkin

Changes to the State’s Infrastructure Guidelines will remove up to 20 weeks from the approval process for major public projects, the Minister for Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation, Jack Chambers TD, has confirmed.

The amendments, which take effect from 11 February 2026, form part of Action 23 of the Accelerating Infrastructure Report published in December 2025. The changes are designed to streamline decision-making, reduce duplication and accelerate projects to construction.

Key challenges shaping Ireland’s built environment

  • Funding – attracting international players, how easy is it to deliver projects here?
  • Planning – resolving the slow process and getting projects moving
  • Infrastructure – getting the basics in place first to fast track planning and funding
  • Resourcing – large projects, which will add more pressure to the demand for skilled trades and construction professionals already at peak levels.
